An Eave Gutter is a trough for catching rainwater at the edge of a building. An eave is a portion of the roof that crosses over a wall to provide a visible drip line and shield it from rainwater damage. An eavestrough is mounted to the outer edge of the eave to collect rainwater. A typical Eave Gutter is defined as a gutter that is installed on a fascia board, external to the building, and attached to an eaves overhang.
